Ruddhi Vichare quit her data analyst job, went to Golden Bridge Pottery in Pondicherry to learn wheel throwing, and then worked in a studio for a while, before setting up Koorm Studio. The Pune-based studio potter wanted to get back to her creative side of things and boy are we glad! A chance encounter through an Instagram comment led us to discover her handle and the work she does. We were immediately drawn towards the Yunomi teacups she had made in 2018 (during her Golden Bridge time) and some solid stalking later, we were sold. Of course, we DMed on Instagram (that's one way you can connect with her for enquiries and orders) asking about pasta bowls, and months later, we ended up getting a few trinket plates with hand-drawn designs.
You might be wondering what happened to the pasta bowls. Nothing, because as a small one-woman run studio, a lot of the products are made to order (time is anywhere between six to eight weeks) and can be customised to your preferences (there's a back & forth conversation till you're sure). You can select the glazes and then leave Ruddhi to work her magic on the wheel. Her top sellers or catalogue are a mix of garden decor and tableware. You will find plenty of pocket planters, platters, plates, bowls of various sizes, and cups and mugs. The carved planters have our hearts.
