From the old-school charm, street food, and street shopping to the beautiful trees, Jayanagar is famous for many things, but it was surely missing a pan Asian restaurant, until recently.
Kubo, a quaint restaurant tucked into one of the bylanes, located on the first-floor terrace is whimsical, with simple furniture, elegant cane pendant lights and floral decor.
The menu is quite extensive with Japanese, Indonesian, Malaysian, Thai, Korean and Burmese cuisines.
They also have kombucha, boba and a variety of teas, that you can choose from.
We started with the edamame dumplings and the prawn
Dumplings then had their chicken satay bao, which had a hint of sweetness to it, we also had their chicken Gyoza, which is my personal favourite. In Sushi, we tried hells kitchen, which had juicy tiger prawns topped with tuna.
For the main course, we had their famous Nasi goreng and katsu curry, which we thoroughly enjoyed, especially the panko-breaded cutlet.
For dessert, we had the mango sticky rice and the lemon grass panna cotta.
Overall, it's a nice place to go for casual lunches and romantic dinners or enjoy an extensive meal with your family and friends, that have a wide array of choices that can satisfy your palate. If you're in Jayanagar and are looking for a fine oriental dining, this is your place, albeit a little expensive for the portion sizes.
