What to eat

We were very excited when we found out that our little office {co-working space actually at NUMA BLR} now has a brand new cafe, and that too a French one. The good folks at Le Casse Croute have set up shop on the sixth floor and are offering a selection of French croques, crepes, breakfast {French Toast with Brioche anyone? Or homemade muesli?}, hot and cold drinks, and dessert too. We tried a savoury French crepe for breakfast, which came filled with mustard chicken, tomatoes and onions. The crepe was not too thick, nor too eggy and had a light sweetness to it with the stuffing adding the right balance.

Try the Madame Garcia, a basil pesto and mozzarella sandwich or the Monsieur Champetre, filled with mustard chicken, mushrooms, tomatoes and caramelised onions. We have to mention that the bread used is just great, with the right crunch and flexibility to hold together a generous stuffing, without breaking up. Used to our need for spice, we found the sandwiches a bit bland, but all was well with a pinch of salt and pepper. You are not allowed to end your meal here without tucking into the lovely, chilled Creme De La Creme, a gooey, cream caramel {slightly salted} and served with Langues de Chat {French cat’s tongue cookies, or biscuits that are soft around the middle and crisp around the edges}.

What to drink

Have we told you yet, how stoked we are that our search for good coffee has ended right here in office. Try the Cafe Latte or even the Double Espresso with milk and you won’t be disappointed. We are also waiting for the Vietnamese style coffee to make an appearance soon on the menu.

The DL on the ambience

The set up is really basic here, with colourful high stools and chairs making it great for a casual catch-up or work lunch.

So, we’re thinking…

Though the service may appear to be a tad too slow, especially when that deadline is looming on your head, be little patient we say, as these guys literally make everything from scratch except the bread and the dessert.
