Suryawanshi: This small outlet is your answer if you craving Misal Pav, Sabudana Wada, Khichadi, Sol Kadhi & other Maharashtrian delicacies.
Been here twice & it didn’t disappoint at all. We tried the Misal Pav, Sabudana Wada, Sabudana Khichadi, Batata Vada, Masala Anda Bhurjee, Kokum Sarbat, Sol Kadhi, Taak & The Jhunka Bhakar Thaali.
Served piping hot, the misal is made with Matki, boiled potatoes & topped with farsan. The pav is not like the one you get in Mumbai but definitely better than the packaged ones. Top this with chopped onions, squeeze lemon & dig in.
The Sabudana Khichadi is loaded in Ghee/Toop. Served with a runny sweet-curd, this misses the essential ingredient - peanuts. Slightly sticky, this one is not really good but can be had if you really craving for it.
Crisp on the edges, mushy in the center the sabudana vada’s are really good & a must-try.
Batata Vada paired with the chutney is nice. The besan coating is quite thick but the filling is mushy & flavourful. Masala Anda Bhurji is spicy with loads of masala, the aroma of which hits you like the dish is placed on the table. Spicy but really good & comforting. Pair this with any of the drinks & it will be great. We tried Kokum Sarbat, Taak & Sol Kadhi & will recommend all 3.
The Jhunka Bhakri thaali was decent for me. Expected the Jhunka to be loaded with Garlic & Green Chillies but it was quite mild. The other bhaji/dal was also very pretty average.
