What's Happening

Happening: In the days leading up to Children’s Day, the Department of Women and Child Development and the Department of Youth Empowerment is hosting Makkala Habba (Children’s Festival, for non-Kannada speakers) over the weekend. With sports, cultural, and learning based activities, games,and performances focusing on children and the youth (and everyone young at heart). The two day event happening at Cubbon Park will have over 40 information and interaction stalls by various Government bodies and NGOs. There will be cultural performances by children, art displays, movie screenings and other engaging (like science and tech stalls, NCC and BSF drills among others) activities to pique or satisfy curious minds. There will also be event for any by specially abled children through the day. The days after will see sports events (open to public if you have the time and inclination) with the prize distribution ceremony on the 14th.

How's The Venue

Cubbon Park is one of the city’s biggest green lungs that is open to public. The event is set to take place across the park, with the Bal Bhavan being the focal point of it all.

Price Includes

The events over the weekend, both viewing and participating are free for all, with the latter being open only for children to register. 

Make A Note

Limited parking is available at the Vidhan Soudha gate and near Chinnaswamy Stadium. We would recommend using Public transport.
