Popular French light painter and graffiti artist, Marko 93 will be in town this week {as part of the 7th edition of Art Bengaluru, a city-based contemporary art festival} and there's plenty on the canvas {geddit?} for you. Inspired by graffiti that started coming up as part of the hip-hop movement in 1980s, Marko specialises in light painting — a technique that blends performance art, drawing and photography. If you want to get a clearer 'picture' of his work, we suggest you hop over to co-working space NUMA on Church Street, Alliance Francaise de Bangalore, Rangoli Metro Art Centre or Jayanagar {see slide above} where you'll find graffiti works from his earlier visit to the city.

Paint With Light

While the 10-day exhibition at UB City will give you the chance to admire some of his artworks from across the globe, the live graffiti session lets you watch the expert artist in his element, wielding spray paint cans and working away. Want to try your hand at some light painting? Go ahead and sign up for Marko 93's workshop on light painting photography, which will have everything from basic techniques to tips on adding flair to your photos with long exposure. Interested participants, make sure you take along a camera and light sources of your choice {think torches or laser points}.
