Gaze at the stars (like you’ve always wanted) but with quality telescopes and a professional to assist you through it all, while naming pointing out constellations! The Astronomy Camp Under The Stars hosted by The Better India and RiSa Astronomy is happening about 60 kilometres from Bangalore, in the town of Denkanikottai. This 20-hour workshop conducted by Anish Kumar (amateur astronomy enthusiast, with a 10 year experience in the field) will touch upon an introduction to telescopes, introduction to the night sky and observational astronomy, learn of constellations and a few bright stars and study solar astronomy with a specialised solar telescope that claims to show the sun in a whole new dimension. Great news is the workshop is open to anybody 3 years and above in age!

Rocky Ridge Farm in Denkanikottai, is an organic farm and retreat with a cafe. Set on a picturesque valley this spot makes for a great weekend getaway, just two hours from Bengaluru and six hours from Chennai.

Aside from understanding the night sky through observational astronomy, there will be camping in tents, barbeque, a tractor ride, and some really fun sight-seeing around the Rocky Ridge Farm. Make note that once you sign up for the workshop, the team will create a WhatsApp group where they will put up the timings for departure.
