Be it pearls on jhumkis or the Colosseum with crystals, bookmark Mayuri Jewels for upcoming shopping expeditions for festival dressing.
Hand-crafted, anti-allergy, jewellery from Mayuri Jewels is perfect for ethnic and contemporary accessories. Beady eyed Jyothi Radhakrishnan is a senior technical manager but thank goodness for us, she moonlights as a jewellery designer, and a fine one at that! Apart from her designs, under the name Mayuri Jewels, which range from chunky tribal and Meenakari to delicate florals and shell art, what we love most is that she uses non-allergic ear wires that are completely lead, cadmium and nickel-free, usually with pewter and silver dominating. Her use of beads also stands out, and we don’t only mean in terms of how she sets them. They’re sourced from America, UK, Nepal and Far East mostly, and hand-picked by Radhakrishnan herself. So don’t expect to get the same designs twice over, as she believes firmly in not repeating. That, or she doesn’t want her customers bumping into each other at a party wearing the same thing!
