Imagine working by the pool with a pina colada, Cantonese Style Lobster, great WiFi, lush greenery, and a relaxed atmosphere: that’s what Merak at JW Marriott offers. Best part? You don’t pay for your time, or the seat(s), but only for food or drinks you order. Unending coffees required to meet a deadline, or beers for a chill day, you’re sorted. Feel free to lounge in pool chairs (some of which are in the pool!) while on that endless conference call or remote meeting. Of course, you can just use the regular seating area for the working-out-of-a-cafe vibe. Sign in to their wifi (you get 6 hours a day), and ask the staff for an extension box, and you’re set for a relaxed work day!
Since it’s essential for work, don’t expect full meals here. The menu is concise and comprises mostly small plates. Don’t be fooled into thinking that it’s not substantial though. Think a good mix of Asian (including Indian and Korean), and Mediterranean, mainly. The dishes are quirky. Like the Not The Usual Bhel, which has a chicken option! Jerk Spiced Paneer Tikka is great for vegetarians, as is the Katsu-style Bean Curd. Non-vegetarians will love the Crispy Mulgapodi Lamb, Murgh Tikka and the fresh and light Duck Spring Roll. The table was split when it came to the Amritsari Fried Fish - some loved its gentle spices, others found it too bland.
