Darjeeling-based entrepreneur, Ekom Mamik gives the humble drumstick a whole new avatar with her MoringaWhat oil, which offers several benefits for your skin apparently.
If regional dishes like sambar are the only things that come to your mind when you think of the Moringa Oleifera (commonly known as drumstick), Ekom Mamik might just change that. Having stumbled upon the many benefits of the tree during her time in Kenya, the Darjeeling-based entrepreneur decided to spread the word (and the goodness, of course) with the venture, MoringaWhat oil – a pure, cold-pressed extraction of the Moringa oleifera seeds. Collaborating with small holding farmers, the oil is made at a cold press unit in Darjeeling, and comes in an eco-friendly glass bottle of 50ml. Besides the pure oil, they also have a Moringa High Vibe Exfoliant which can be bought individually or as a set with the oil. Plus it's not all skin deep, they also have an ingestible powder, The Daily Green which can be used as a health supplement.
Rich in anti-oxidants and nutrients, moringa oil is known to have softening, exfoliating and anti-ageing properties. Apart from being a natural moisturiser (we suggest applying some before you go to bed, for great results), we love that it also makes for a great massage oil. Pale yellow in colour and with a shelf life of almost three years, we think this one’s worth stocking up on.
Price: Moringa Oil INR 1,404, Moringa High Vibe Exfoliant INR 649 and The Daily Green INR 300.
