We’re all set for the Echoes of Earth music festival to kickstart this weekend at the sprawling 150 acres at Embassy International Riding School. With four stages and a fantastic line-up of over 40 artistes, fill your weekend with great music in genres like jazz, blues, techno, electronic and fusion. Here’s a list of six of the artists that we’re looking forward to most.
Folk Fusion To Techno Beats: 6 Acts You Need To Catch At Echoes Of Earth This Weekend
Hilight Tribe
With their fresh trance sounds inspired nature and their travels all over the world, this French group has taken their music to places like Japan, Spain, Ireland, United States, Portugal and Germany. The tribe of five are known for their use of ethnic instruments like djembes, congos and sitars that make their dance music stand out from the crowd. Catch them on Day 1.

Thallavattam
A nice blend of Indian folk with western rock, this Indian band creates music from instruments made from waste plastic and metal, fitting in perfectly with the theme and message of the Echoes of Earth festival, which is all about celebrating and preserving nature. The percussion-based project was started by Montry Manuel and is cleaning up the earth with their music, one great beat at a time. They’ll be playing on Day 1.

Manu Delago
The Austrian percussionist and composer is an alumnus of the Trinity College of Music and has collaborated with Austrian bands like HotchPotch, Zabine, Michael Tschuggnall in the past. The hang drum player has worked with Bjork and has provided music for films too. Expect to hear a dreamy fusion of melodies and beats during his performance on Day 1.

Prateek Kuhad
The India-born singer-songwriter has toured extensively around the country and has even performed as the supporting act for Alt J’s and Mike Posner’s India tours. Prateek Kuhad is now a household name for his folk and pop-rock melodies that seem to connect with his huge fan following. Catch him on Day 2 and hum along with the crowds.

Gentleman's Dub Club
The UK act burst on to the scene in 2006 as a dub band, the nine-piece band mixes genres like dub, ska, reggae and electronic tunes. Known for the dance floor bangers, these guys will have you breaking it down no matter how old or young you are {We’re counting this as our workout for the month}. Gentleman’s Dub Club will be on stage on Day 2.

Komorebi
Komorebi’s harmonies and synth arrangements are all inspired by Japanese anime and literature, which should make for an interesting show. An independent project of Tarana Marwah, this musical goddess is a pianist, composer, singer and choir practitioner in Delhi’s musical circles, and she often dons a cutesy anime-esque getup with pigtails or brightly-coloured hair that just adds to the charm of the whole gig.
