Namma Metro in the city has become a comfortable mode of transportation now that there are two lines that cover a huge part of the city. Here’s some great news for all you morning people. Now the metro will start at 7am instead of 8am on Sundays. The Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation (BMRCL) made this announcement this week after multiple requests from commuters to help ease the increased passenger traffic near Majestic station. This means you can finally start off your Sunday early! Go on that early morning run to Cubbon Park and breathe in some much needed fresh air or gobble up steaming hot Thatte Idli and Paaya Soup for breakfast from the best of Bangalore’s military hotels. Either way, you get to enjoy your Sunday for a longer time and hopefully avoid the crowd in the mornings!
With two lines running in the city currently, the purple line starts at Baiyapanahalli metro station and ends at Mysore road while the green line is from Nagasandra metro station to Yelachenahalli. With the metro functioning from 5:30 am to 11 pmfrom Monday to Saturday, it has become convenient for a huge population in the city.
