Feast Despite Your Fast At These Restaurants Serving Special Navratri Food

The information in this post might be outdated

We know how tough it is to stay away from onions, garlic and root veggies this season, and so we went hunting to find places you can easily hit up this Navratri without worrying about your dietary restrictions. Don't compromise on your feasting in the run up to Dussera. Happy Festive Season, everyone!

Housefull

Head over to Housefull for a proper Navratri meal in it's most traditional form. If you're avoiding garlic, onions, root vegetables, turmeric and even pulses and wheat flower, then you don't need to worry. The quirky menu here has been modified for the festive season, and you've got to go!

On until November 19.

The Higher Taste

You won't be able to tell the difference between your usual favourites in the Sattvic form at this restaurant in the ISKCON complex. Salads, chaats, tikkas and pakoras make up the starters. And for mains, expect creamy dals, dahi bhalla, Lucknowi biryani and even a few European dishes like pasta and pizzas. Yup, you read that right!

Kesariya

Head over here for a flavourful meal of dishes such as Dal Panchami, Koftas, Moong Dal Vada, Gobhi Palak and puris and pulao. Of course, leave room for the Kesariya Kulfi, a hot (or rather freezing) favourite at this restaurant.

The London Curry House and The Asian Curry House

Both from the same parent brand as Shiv Sagar, both these places offer Jain cuisine. Perfect if you're avoiding garlic, onion, root vegetables and turmeric, just ask your server, and they'll whip up the Navratri version of their quirky dishes for you.

Sattvam

Tikkas, dal, rajma and divine pulaos, there's plenty of Sattvic and Jain food to help you celebrate Navratri. You can pile on the food with no worry about the ingredients, as they very strictly adhere to Jain dietary restrictions.

Gramin

While Gramin is currently not doing anything specific, the fact that they are 365, 24/7 vegetarian and even cater to Jain dietary restrictions, means it's Navratri friendly. From Paneer Salan and Vegetarian Korma to Daal Kolhapuri and Malai Kofta, they've got you covered to feast and not feel like it's a fast.
