What Makes It Awesome

Tucked away in the bylanes of Domlur, Navu's bistro is the perfect setting for date nights and solo diners like this writer. We popped by one evening (after reserving a table because dine-in is possible only through prior booking) at the appointed hour for our dinner. The small, intimate space features minimal decor, evenly spaced tables, and seating by the pass from where you can get a peek into the kitchen. We obviously sat at the bar counter because nothing makes us happier than watching a kitchen do its thing. A black chalkboard features the night's specials and while we did want to try the House Halloumi, the Navu Tuna Carpaccio caught our eye with its soy-ginger dressing. The cured tuna is a 10/10 but we couldn't get enough of the soy-ginger dressing – Navu's prowess is in blending European with Asian flavours. And we are all for that.

We washed down that with a Mossant Fermentary Yuzu Kombucha before we dug into our main – the Hainanese Chicken Rice. Served with broth on the side and perfectly jammy eggs, the only thing we missed was some heat, which was sorted out with a side of house chilli oil. Dessert was skipped because of our lack of sweet tooth, but we heard from little birdies that the Navu Baklava is a must-try.

Pro-Tip

Navu Project is currently open only for dinner with two slots -- 7 pm and 9 pm.
