The Wolfpack

The Wolfpack, a 2015-released American documentary film, is about a family who raises their seven children within the confines of their apartment in Lower East Side Manhattan. What happens when the boys, who learn about the outside only through movies, happen to go out and explore the world outside?

Master of None

Described as “the year’s best comedy straight out of the gate” by The New YorkTimes, this American comedy series {released in 2015} was created by Aziz Ansari and Alan Yang. Starring Aziz himself in the lead role, this one is all about the personal and professional life of Dev, a 30-year-old actor in New York.

Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt

Created by Tina Fey and Robert Carlock, this sitcom series depicts {with a whole lot of humour, we must add} 29-year-old Kimmy Schmidt’s journey, adjusting to life in New York City after being rescued from a doomsday cult.

Bloodline

Bloodline focusses on the Rayburn family, who are faced with their past secrets when the oldest son, the black sheep of the family returns home for a function.

Narcos

A biographical crime drama, Narcos is based on the story of Colombian drug lord, Pablo Escobar. Watch this one for the solid performances and the true-to-life account that includes archival footage.

Peaky Blinders

Set in 1919 Birmingham, England, Peaky Blinders is a historical fiction series that follows a gang {of the same name} who sew razor blades in the peaks of their caps. Actor Cillian Murphy plays the role of Tommy Shelby, the gang’s boss.

Making a Murderer

A real-life thriller that was filmed over a period of ten years, this series narrates the story of Steven Avery, who spent 18 years in prison for charges of sexual assault and attempted murder, was later acquitted but, again, convicted of a different murder.

Iris

Iris, a biographical documentary by filmmaker, Albert Maysles, portrays the life of fashion icon, Iris Apfel {played by herself}.
