Classy cocktails served with plenty of drama and pizzaz inspired by the city of New Orleans. Done The Oberoi style.

What's brewing?

Nola is the name lovingly given to the city of New Orleans in the United States. Ola Nola is the Polo Club’s alcohol-infused tribute to this fantastic city with its jazz heritage, unique cuisine, multilingual culture and its colourful festivals. New Orleans is also the birthplace of cocktails and keeping that in mind Polo Club at The Oberoi has come up with a menu dedicated to cocktails, which will be available on request at the bar.

Cocktail gaga

The Citrus Tonique is inspired by the combination of the Prohibition-era favourite – gin hidden under harmless OJ, used to disguise the presence of alcohol. Valencia Oranges, zesty lemons, caramelised brown sugar and a sprig of rosemary grown in The Oberoi’s in-house herb garden, go into this sweet yet tart and refreshing cocktail. The Ricochet {hands down our favourite} is the kind of whimsy we love. A fluffy pink cotton candy ball is placed in a cocktail glass which is then doused with vodka, until the sugary clouds disintegrate completely into a pink puddle. It is then topped with some sparkling limonata. The Felix is another concoction we admired with vodka, tomato juice, muddled with six kinds of peppercorn, Tabasco and some garden fresh celery. And in a stroke of genius, some of the cocktail liquid had been frozen into ice cubes, used to intensify flavours in the cocktail.

So we're thinking...

A lot of thought, effort and execution has gone into the making of each of the Ola Nola cocktails, which makes the experience of drinking these worth your while. Don’t forget to chat up with the ever smiling bar manager Shashank for a trivia-cum-history lesson on these cocktails.
