Bangalore, Stay Home This New Year's Eve As CM Says No Parties & Mass Gatherings

According to reports and the statement by CM Basavaraj Bommai, restaurants and bars in Bangalore (and Karnataka) are to operate only at 50 per cent capacity and no New Year's Eve special events, parties, or mass gatherings, will be allowed on New Year's Eve. This is in conjunction with the new Omicron variant and COVID-19 protocols, and to ensure the safety of all.

Unlike previous years (2019 and before), there won't be any celebrations on Brigade Road as well with all the shops to shut at least two hours earlier than usual to avoid crowding.

As an added measure, there will be a night curfew for 10 days starting Tuesday, December 28 from 10 pm to 5 am. Furthermore, between December 30 and January 2, restaurants, hotels, pubs, and bars will be allowed to operate only at 50 per cent capacity.

Stay home, stay safe, folks!
