Bobby’s Punjabi Dhaba

punjabi vegetarian food at bobby da dhaba in ulsoor

Source: The Hindu

Moving away from its original location next to the Ulsoor Gurudwara a few years ago did not diminish Bobby’s popularity whatsoever. In its new location also in Ulsoor, this restaurant that serves hearty, dhaba-style fare, continues to offer stuffed parathas (aloo, muli, paneer, methi, onion), and greasy curries. Our favourite: the Baigan Da Bartha, Kadi Pakoda and Jeera Rice, all to be washed down with tall glasses of buttermilk. Finish your meal here with their kheer. Our only grouse: There is no roti available on the menu.

Where: Near Lavanya Theatre, St John’s Road, Ulsoor

Kund Indian Barbeque

Kund is as famous for its sublime kebabs (Chicken Achari Tikka, Murgh Kalimirch) as it is for its creamy Dal Makhani. Their Mutton Biryani is supremely good as is their Chicken Tikka Masala. Don’t forget to end your meal here with a bowl of hot, gooey Gajar Ka Halwa.

The fish starters here, especially the Tandoori Ajwaini Macchi is divine and you should pair it up first with some brothy Murgh Yakhni soup. Mutton Seekh, Barra or their Murgh Lasooni Tikkas are hits with us too. For mains, try their Lajawaab Arbi, Railway Mutton Curry, or the Seekh Kebab Masala. They also have a Low Calorie Menu, where they claim to serve your Butter Chickens or the Dal Makhanis without the butter and cream.
