We are always on the hunt for hot sauces and when we stumbled upon Not Just Hot, our tastebuds were tingling. Saritha Hegde is the lady behind this brand and a WhatsApp conversation later (that's the way to place your orders), we were dipping some chips into the Red Hot Sauce we had ordered along with Hot Travelling Chillis (it's a great topping). They also send over complimentary Thai-inspired Coriander Root Wok Sauce (more on this later). Coming back to the hot sauce, it's rated 4/5 for spiciness by Saritha, and being the hot sauce junkie that we are, the only feedback we have is that she should make it spicier. But this works for us. And for those of you whose spice tolerance is mild, you've been warned. You can use the sauce as a dip, for marinades, and for cooking.
If you check out Not Just Hot's website you'll see that there's a whole collection of homemade sauces, marinades, infused oils, and spice mixes that go beyond the hot sauces. You can pick up chilli oil, Asian sauces and oils such as the Coriander Root Wok Sauce, Prik Nam Pla, and Asian-inspired Pepper Sauce, Indian sauces like the Andhra Chilli Sauce and Indian spice mixes such as the Manglorean Fish Mix and Sambhar mix. The spice mixes are made by Saritha's mum. They also do pates -- great for banh mi and as a spread for sandwiches.
