When you don’t have enough money to actually go to London, why not drive off to Coorg and relax in Notting Hill! There’s coffee and better views!

Home Away From Home

Maybe you won’t find Hugh Grant and Julia Roberts prancing about, but when you’ve got fog rolling in over the lush coffee estates, you don’t really need them! Set across the little town of Madikeri, on Stewart Hill, this quaint homestay is close enough to the capital of Coorg, but just that bit outside the ruckus.

A little cottage that’s perfect to catch the sunrise, Notting Hill is really a home away from home. And that is also a way of saying don’t expect anything swanky. It’s a three-bedroom home that is ideal to get some serious rest and relaxation at. Essentially an ancestral home, you can even book the whole place with friends and family. Each of the three rooms have exposed brick walls giving it that extra cosy feel.

Keeping It Cosy

Apart from the bedrooms, the dining and drawing room are warm and inviting. Add to that a host of books and board games, and you can spend the entire weekend engaged in friendly competition.

Food is homely and tasty. And the hot coffee and bhajjis that are served at tea time are the best! Not only because they’re yummy, but also nothing quite beats the joys of pakoda-bhajji-coffee just as the sun is setting, and the nip in the air starts to take over.

Exploring Town

Since the homestay isn’t too far from town, head off to Raja’s Seat for a view of the entire Kodava area, or take a trip to the fort area and museum which you can actually walk to. If you’re into fish therapy or religious at all, make a trip to the Sri Omkareshwar temple. Exploring the little bazaar in the town centre is also fun, especially if you want to load up your shopping bags with coffee, spices {pepper and cloves, mostly}, and honey. On the way back, stop for food at the iconic East End Hotel, then thank us later.
