Fashion Will Pop Up At Olive Beach, Courtesy The Verandah Boutique

Shortcut

Curated by Neetu Gupta, a designer and the owner of The Verandah, the popup at Olive Beach promises to be a fashion-filled Wednesday dedicated to Indian designers, sustainable apparel, and stunning jewellery.

Summer Fashion

Backed by over 25 years in the industry, Neetu Gupta, who heads the fashion store – The Verandah {in Ulsoor}, is relying on her keen understanding of every aspect of the fashion business to bring us a summer collection that’s worth clearing our wardrobes for. Interesting silhouettes, handcrafted pieces and one-of-a-kind jewellery are all up for grabs and are worth braving the sun for. The popup on May 4, 2016, at Olive Beach, will bring to the forefront homegrown designers and fashion houses like Akaaro, Tilla, Mrinalini, Wh!m, House of Sohn, Rimi Nayak, Tania Mogreacha, Antar-Agni, Urvashi Kaur, Ezra and many more.

We recommend that you particularly keep your eyes peeled for Wh!m, a brand that adds a fun, carefree twist to everyday wear. And, also, House of Sōhn that incorporates nature photography, media prints and travel stories into the designs that focus exclusively on women and their life journeys. Brands like Akaaro will promote the country’s rich heritage of handwoven textiles with their range of exquisitely woven garments.

Jewellery Stand

Equally inspired by industrial, urban India as well the indigenous, rural parts – jewellery from En Inde blends the modern with the rustic. During the fashion showcase, the brand is putting up handcrafted pieces that have been made using a range of materials. You can also look forward to picking up accessories and jewellery from Chicory Chai and Maya Bazaar during the day-long popup.

Navya considers herself to be the Cassandra of the 21st century – no one ever listens to the wisdom that she so willingly imparts. This is the only Greek tragedy element in her otherwise happy life. She’s got her Husband Charming, has perfected the art of sarcasm, is always fed copious amounts of good food, and is well on her way to self-actualization.
