This Baroda-headquartered lifestyle brand is like its name suggests, one-off in everything it does with a goal to create for the sake of creation. Something to stop and think about, no?
Artist and Illustrator Satyaprita, the creative head behind all the designs, bases her aesthetic on childhood nostalgia. What you will see is scribbling, just like how kids create with no end goal. The fact that there's nowhere to get to, gives one the freedom of expression -- so express or create till you've run out, says Satya. OneOff is also unabashed about its high contrast colour combinations, reason why the brand caught our fancy. It is their ceramics collection that we can't get enough of.
OneOff works with a local studio potter to make their mugs, tumblers, platters, planters and more that is then hand-painted by Satya. You can tell that these are hand built in small batches by the imperfections and character they exude. These could animate a boring dining table and act as decor! Aside from ceramics, Satya loves two other mediums of expression -- organic khadi paper (sourced from Karnataka) to create original artwork on and organic cotton that she turns into clothing (unisex shirts) and soft furnishings (cushion covers).
OneOff also stresses on slow production and sustainable organic processes (minimal water usage, fabric wastage etc). Prices range from INR 350 to INR 3,500.
