If there's a type of food that we will always order, it's Chinese food. There's nothing like digging into some stir-fried noodles, fried rice, and our usual Holy Trinity of Kung Pao-Chilli-Scezhwan sauces based curries. So when Kolkata-based Chowman sent over some lunch for us to try, you can say we were quite happy. The Kolkata brand has six dine-in restaurants in Kammanahalli, Marathahalli, Bellandur, Indiranagar, Arekere, Kalyan Nagar and Electronic City.
We haven't visited the dine in spaces yet (we intend to pretty soon), so we had the food delivered to us from the Arakere cloud kitchen. We had Kung Pao Chicken, Pepper Garlic Fish, Chicken Thai Noodles, Chicken Fried Rice, Chicken In Chilli Wine Sauce, and Fish in Sweet Chilli Sauce and honestly, some of the dishes were better than their counterparts from our usual Chinese haunts in the city. The Kung Pao Chicken, a dry appetiser, was our favourite of the lot. We quite liked the Chicken in Chilli Wine Sauce and the sign of a good Chinese restaurant in our eyes is a bowl of simple fried rice, which Chowman delivers. We only wish we got more of the dipping sauces.
The menu is extensive, so maybe treat yourself to different dishes now and then when you order. We're going to try the Spicy Orange Chicken next.
