There are two sets of people. Those who love momos to death (like one should) and those that categorise this one-bite comfort food as unhygienic. While Bengaluru has many street-side haunts that most peeps frequent, it also does restaurants that overprice the humble momo (tch tch). Both these options have shortcomings, but one thing is for sure. Ain't nobody giving up on the momo hankering!
So, we've found our (and your) middle ground in Asian Food Company, a new cloud kitchen in town that will have you saying we want mo & mo! There are many things this service nails. For one, they are operational from 10 am to 1 am, every day. Two, they have a whopping 15 types of dumplings (soon expanding to 25), all recipes from Tarun, the Founder and Head Chef. Lastly, everything is made to order, fresh on a daily basis, including the sauces.
Not going to lie, the unusual fillings had us in two minds but it was also exciting. Mutton, fish, even dry fruits in momos? Exactly. Besides, their vegetarian and vegan options aren't basic. The Tofu is a hit among everyone, we're told.
Being the momo + meat head I am, I ordered the Non Veg Platter (INR 360) -- an assortment of eight different fillings. Plus, a helping of the Dry Fruit & Chocolate, because how much is too much in momoland? Straight up loved the juicy Chicken Basil and surprisingly the Fish Szechuan. The Mutton was meaty but not overbearingly so. 10/10 would recommend trying the platters before settling on a favourite.
