What Makes It Awesome

Meat lovers, here's big reason for you to unite and rejoice! Chef Kalyan Gopalakrishna of The Balanced Plate CafĂ© is recreating traditional family recipes for you to order in and enjoy at home. "Karnivore Kalyan", as he is fondly referred to by friends, led to the birth of the Karnivore Kitchen and his undying love for anything non-vegetarian, of course.

The menu is all meat and is not shying away in its flavours. Chef Kalyan assures that he uses only premium cuts of meat, free of antibiotics and fresh seafood sourced from a known vendor in Visakhapatnam. What's more? All masala blends are made at home by grinding whole organic spices. The results are a uber meaty, flavourful Bannur Mutton Pulao (he has also launched a signature version of the same, Pork Pulav), Chicken Ghee Roast and a crowd and Kalyan's personal favourite, Pork Pepper Fry.

Aside from traditional South Indian dishes, Kalyan also had a robust Nalli Nihari, Pork Vindaloo and Lemon Coriander Pork Ribs on the menu. What makes the 'karnivore' in us all the more joyful are the portion sizes -- bigger than at restaurants (quarter kilo a portion) and the prices --- INR 300 for chicken and pork and INR 450 upwards for seafood and mutton.

The Karnivore Kitchen's food is in demand, so you better pre-order in advance. At least, a day ahead for a weekday delivery and on Fridays for a weekend feast. Do this by calling or Dming Kalyan (number on IG handle). Note that you will have to have your order Dunzoed.

Pro-Tip

We hear that Chef Kalyan will soon be introducing 6 Prawn dishes and his signature, Crispy Pork Belly Crackling. Also on the menu is the Oil-free Chicken Pulav from The Balanced Plate Café, for those of you who love your meat but not the fat or calories.
