Your next sun-kissed holiday in Karnataka should include a day trip to the coastal town of Othinane, near Udupi. Once there, check into the Kshitija Nesara Dhama for sweeping views of the Arabian Sea.

Sunny Days

Travel junkies! Here’s a sunny slice of heaven that you can explore in 2018. The Udupi-Kundapur belt is dotted with many gorgeous beaches that’ll please you to no end. But if you want to go down the unbeaten path, then we’d be more than happy to point in the direction of Othinane that’s about a 100 km from Udupi.

The tiny village is renowned for its pristine beaches. But when here, we recommend you head straight to the Kshitija Nesara Dhama property that’s managed by the local forest department. A popular picnic and getaway spot, this hilltop spot is covered in lush greenery and coconut groves.

All You Can Sea

Take a seat at one of the shelters and you can spend a day feasting your eyes on the property’s breathtaking surroundings. There are the silver and blue waters of the Arabian sea — we’re convinced that when Jack Sparrow went off to World’s End in Pirates Of The Caribbean, this is where he ended up. You can actually see where the sky and sea meet! But it isn’t just about the sea. The estuary where the River Sumana meets the sea makes for Insta-worthy pics too. In the evenings, a stop by the sunset point is a must to watch the bright orange hue over the waters. Hint: It’s really romantic so maybe a walk along the beach, is in order. The place does offer budget accommodation but is best for a one-day getaway from Mangalore.

Navya considers herself to be the Cassandra of the 21st century – no one ever listens to the wisdom that she so willingly imparts. This is the only Greek tragedy element in her otherwise happy life. She’s got her Husband Charming, has perfected the art of sarcasm, is always fed copious amounts of good food, and is well on her way to self-actualization.
