There’s A New Restaurant In Town With Peruvian Meets Japanese Cuisine & We Have All The Deets

Ladies and gentlemen, we bring you fine news in the form of 1Q1, a new pan-Asian restaurant. Right in the centre of town, no really, it’s located on Queen’s Road, at the iconic, New Indian Express Building. An art deco-inspired kitchen is what you can expect here, serving up authentic Asian food. If you live in this area, you’ll know that this is a very welcome addition. Oh, plus a bar that’s going to be mixing up some heady cocktails.

Expected to be a fine dining experience, a space for high-energy entertainment by a stage and a swish bar, 1Q1 is meant to reflect the art deco nature of the building it is housed in. What we’re most excited about though, is the third aspect of the place — an al fresco dining area which is done up like a tropical garden. Reserved mostly for grills and seafood, it’s got our expectations up. The menu will be traditional flavours but with a contemporary twist. In fact, it’s Nikkei cuisine that blends Peruvian and Japanese food cultures. And if you’re wondering how this will be pulled off, then fear not. It’s Chef Mako Ravindran {of Japanese restaurant Harima fame} who’s helming it. So no doubts, anymore. Just wait to kick back with a cocktail in hand, dim sum on a platter and sushi in the making.
