Actor and playwright Manav Kaul's play Park is back for Bangalore audiences at not one but three venues this weekend. The play, based on the theme of urban migration, is set in a park. Directed by Sandbox Collective {city-based arts collective} co founder Nimi Ravindran, the play looks at three benches set in park, and which becomes a bone of contention between three men.
Who Is It For?If you like theatre and like to watch plays that reflect real life and what is topical, and also make you think and introspect, then this performance needs to be your jam. A dark subject seen through a lighthearted lens of comedy.
Why Should I Go For It?The English play {suitable for ages 8 and above} is not just about three men fighting about benches in a park, but plays on the larger theme of politics and people fighting for individual spaces in a nameless city in India. A theme that might resonate with just about anyone. The play opened in 2016 at Jagriti Theatre and since then has had 17 shows.
