If you missed the pickleball train in 2024 and 2025, that’s alright because at the newly launched The Patio at 24/1, you can combine your love for good food with a round of pickleball. Yes, it’s touted to be the city’s only all-day space that features an attached pickleball court.

The Space

We dropped by on a Sunday morning after our walk at Cubbon Park to see what the space is all about. Located inside the JW Marriott Hotel Bengaluru, Patio replaces the popular Bangalore Baking Company. In a space designed for a hotel setting, the expansiveness makes it feel generous, calm and unhurried. You have some corners where you can just be by yourself. There’s a pool table in one section. But our favourite? The patio seating — it’s covered in green and receives lots of sunlight. And we’re like plants, we need our sunlight. And from here you can catch a glimpse of the court.

As you pass the narrow kitchen corridor and step out onto the court, you’ll find that there’s seating on either side of the court. Which is great, because who doesn’t enjoy sipping on some fresh juice or coffee mid-game? If you are new to pickleball, there’s an instructor to help you out. They also allow you to rent their gear. If you have friends who are serious about pickleball, then you could make a plan that involves The Patio at 24/1.

While we didn’t play, we did catch some folks playing, and spotted them drinking matcha in between — so Instagram wellness era coded.

The Food

Speaking of matcha, we got back to our spot and got around ordering a bunch of stuff for breakfast. We started with a Berry Blossom Smoothie Bowl, French Toast, and a Croissant Benedict. And some coffee and matcha to go with it. We did feel very “matcha girlie” coded with our order. 10/10 for the smoothie bowl and the French Toast that featured an abundance of fresh fruit topping. The Benedict featured a charcoal-infused croissant that just looked good when we cut the egg. While we were almost done with our meal, the chef sent over one of his signature dishes — the Roots and Fruits, which featured little balls of carrots and seasonal fruits on a bed of quinoa. An interesting dish, and also made us think maybe it’s a nod to the pickleball factor at the restaurant.

Final Thoughts

We are definitely planning on coming back with our friends for a session of pickleball and a smoothie bowl. And if you are looking for a convenient space, you know where to head.
