What Makes It Awesome

Unlike the Khan Market or Khar outposts of Perch, the one in Bangalore has no outdoor seating and is located inside a mall. No this isn't us complaining. We're glad Perch Wine & Coffee Bar is inside Mall Of Asia because after spending hours browsing through the collection at H&M Home, we need a space to kick back, stretch our legs, and just chill out. Perch offers that with a glass of wine or coffee if you're not into day drinking. And of course, some nosh that's got global influences — something we could do after having dragged our friends from buying one too many Bombshells from Victoria's Secret located a floor above.

Perch has "outdoor" seating with high tables and a coffee bar — it makes for a great spot to sit down with your shopping bags and sip on some single-origin coffee from Ethiopia to El Salvador. We, however, picked the indoor seating that's minimal in decor but still cosy — there are a few spots that are ideal for date nights, and you'll know them when you see them. Music isn't loud but it's there for you to nod to when you're spacing out or waiting for your food to come.

The seasonal menu rotates once every 6 months, and we sampled a few things from their Autumn menu. We kicked off things with the Avocado Tartare with smashed edamame and Burrata Toasties. Both were a hit with us, especially the burrata — not too sweet but perfectly spiced orange marmalade. We spotted salads that are perfect for those light lunches — the Poached Pear Salad sounded like something we'd like to try. We also spotted a couple of sandwiches but ended up sampling the Charred Chipotle Chicken Tacos. It had the right spice and was not too greasy. Between all this, we kept cleansing our palate with a refreshing Guava soda that also had notes of mint and hibiscus. For mains, we picked the Miso Grilled Chicken from the Perch Classics section. It's something we'll order again because it's a no-fuss, flavours on point main.

We haven't explored the wine section yet, and there are mimosas, sangrias and wine cocktails, so maybe after a shopping spree, we know what to do.
