What Is It?

Both dealing with important events from history, an award-winning drama and a comedy come to Ranga Shankara this weekend. Coming back to the theatre space after its premiere here last year {as part of the Ranga Shankara Theatre Festival} Mein Huun Yusuf Aur Ye Hai Mera Bhai is set in Palestine of 1948, when the British mandate came to an end. Delving into the lives of Ali, his love interest, Nada and his brother, Yusuf, the plot unfolds when secrets and emotions surface with the onset of war.

Mukaam Dehru Jilaa Nagaur

The second play, Mukaam Dehru Jilaa Nagaur, portrays a tale that combines history and fiction. Set in India of the pre-independence era, the characters in the comedy include British spies, a young revolutionary fighting for independence a quack who invents medicines and a ghost-fearing local constable, and even Adolf Hitler {oh yes!}. There's quite a lot of hilarious instances to get you cracking up, of course.

Who Is It For?

Perfect for theatre enthusiasts or someone looking to catch a good play, the lineup of shows promise you a weekend of drama and humour.

Why Should I Go For It?

While you should watch Mukaam Dehru Jilaa Nagaur for the humour it packs in, Mein Huun Yusuf Aur Ye Hai Mera Bhai is worth bookmarking, going by how it won quite a few awards at the recent Mahindra Excellence in Theatre Awards 2016 {including Best Director and Best Play}.
