After the Kanakavalli opened shop last year, Pothys, another iconic sari brand from Chennai is coming to Bangalore, and they’re opening a store with eight floors! Yes, you read that right…eight floors! They clearly are going the whole nine yards! While we haven’t yet been to the store, we cannot wait to feast our eyes on the yards and yards of trademark Pothys styles of Kalamkari, Kancheepuram, Pochampally, Mysore silk, and even their modern mixes of silk and chiffon. Going by their stores across Tamil Nadu, we are hoping that they will bring their selection of Banarasi, Tussar, Rajkot Patola and organza silk saris too.
The wedding section is, of course, grand and elegant, with everything from paisley and floral prints on them, in colours such as gold, red, purple, and beautiful blends of gold-blue-green, pink-red-orange as well as more muted options such as simple borders with solid colours and running blouses. Men, you can stock up on silk dhotis or cotton ones, in addition to pure silk shirts.
