What Makes It Awesome?

It’s that time of the year again; it is Pride month, and everyone is showing their support by embracing all the colors of the pride flag. While we love to see the rainbows everywhere, it is important to acknowledge and talk about the fact that Pride is a year-long protest against social injustices (including Rainbow Capitalism itself). There are some brands that make it a point to be inclusive always, pride month or not. And Sangya Project is one of our favorite LGBTQ owned homegrown brands out there that’s breaking barriers and destroying social constructs all year round. Founded in 2020 by a queer family of three - Shweta Sangtani, Tanisha RK, and Aashish Mehrotra - Sangya Project happens to be India’s only queer owned and run sex tech brand!

Sangya Project has continually focused on building tools of sexual health and wellness that do not lean into gender stereotypes. They are the first manufacturers of sex toys in the country and their products are designed to suit the Indian consumer. Ranging from butt plugs to dildos, and vibrators to lubricants, all their products are FDA approved and manufactured using medical grade silicone. Other than vibrators and thrusters, Sangya also offers toys such as strokers and fleshlights, making pleasure and play a hands-on experience for everyone.

Speaking of play, their range of kinkwear and kink-affirmative toys is the best in the Indian market. In kink toys, they have leather handcuffs, collar and leash combos, and split-paddle spankers, all set to heat things up in bed. The kinkwear collection, on the other hand, includes leather harnesses, lingerie and the likes, that come in all shapes and sizes, making them suitable for people of all body types!

While their products are highly innovative and have received rave reviews from all across the community, Sangya has always been more than just a sex tech store. In their own words, Sangya Project “aims to create destigmatised, trauma-informed, and kink-affirmative education that continuously makes room for new stories and new perspectives.” My own introduction to the brand was through their Instagram account, which features informative posts on all things sex positive – Aftercare, sex-ed for doctors, ethical non-monogamy and more. We love a brand that breaks barriers and taboos, and the Sangya project is all of that and more, so go check out their products and their pages today!

Pro Tip:

In a brilliant new initiative this Pride month, Sangya Project is showcasing queer artists, entrepreneurs, and professionals by featuring their work and products on their own website. There’s a bunch of cool stuff to choose from, including vinyl records, artwork and more; go check it out!
