Grab Your Drinking Buddies And Pub Crawl Your Way Through These Bars & Lounges In HSR

Sreepathy posted on 02 April

It’s a given that Bangaloreans know how to drink and with most of the population getting their thirst quenched at the pubs and bars in MG Road, Koramangala, and Indiranagar. But the crowds can get maddening at these places, come weekends. Fortunately for you, we have another destination that you can set your GPS to — HSR Layout. We have picked out five bars and pubs in HSR Layout for you to drink your way through. Expect everything from your good old margaritas to unusual concoctions featuring anything from chocolate to coconut cream. Time to put one scene in HSR!

House Of Commons {HOC}

We’ve been part of many drinking seshes with our squad here and also from what we hear from the regular patrons who frequent this pub, it’s safe to say, HOC is where you need to flag your pub crawl in HSR. Besides, HOC’s cheap booze and happy hours also make it the ideal starting point. Daiquiris, Screw Drivers, and Mai Tais for everyone, while HOC Evolution and HOC Margaritas for the adventurous ones. A plate of fries, Buffalo Wings, Vodka Infused Pineapple Sukka, and Chicken In Devil Sauce from the bar nibbles section will serve as a good company for your drinks.

Republique: Pub & Terrace Lounge

Drinking on the terrace has its own charm and Republique delivers both the open-air ambience and cocktails quite well. Classic cocktails and beer should keep you occupied, with the LIIT and Long Beach Iced Tea getting our nod. Vodka, rum, gin, tequila, and Triple Sec in the Beach should keep your buzz going while you hit the dance floor or order a round of masala papads, momos, and plates of 7-Spiced Chicken and Calamari Rings. If you are hungry, order a round of pizzas as well. Teriyaki over Tuscany pizza any day.

TBC Sky Lounge

Our favourite bar in HSR, TBC‘s open-air rooftop with its colourful metal chairs, long community tables and the whole space generously dotted with greens of all kind is the perfect place to unwind. Grab yourself a beer or rum and Coke or go straight for shooters like Bazookas and Jager Bombs. Or you could settle down with the vodka-based Deep Blue Something or a gin-vodka number with Die Another Day. There’s a Chocotini for anyone who fancies dark Irish chocolate with their vodka and Baileys. Shredded Chicken Pepper, Roti Bites, and Kebab Platters if you are are checking in with the squad. Table for two can order themselves Teriyaki Skewers and Satay Chicken.

Safe House

Game shooters are what you start with at Safe House. You can pick from four to 16 shots depending on your squad size or your drinking capacity and how much fun you are in for the night. Oh yes, these game shooters come with actual games like a dart, tic-tac-toe, and roulette table. See, fun right there! If you are skipping the shooters, order the LIIT and Sangria Pitchers for you and the gang to drink and make merry. Al Capone, Gangster Martini, and Gin Rickey for the win if you are planning on ordering a couple of cocktails. Pair all your drinks with bar nibbles such as nachos, Egg Chilli, Andhra-style Chilli Chicken, and Golden Fried Prawns.

Happy hours on draught beer mug, pitcher, and the tower should set the scene for the final destination of your HSR pub crawl. If you are planning on ending the evening on a high note {it’ll be a wonder if you are not high already}, Shift’s signature cocktails should do the trick. Fan’s of Social will find a familiar drink in the form of Acharoska, but if you don’t like spices in your drink, there’s the Lipstick On The Collar and Milky Way to order. The Lipstick is a bartender special while the Milky Way comes with milk and rum. Yes, milk and rum. Baked falafels, a selection of chicken starters in all kinds of sauces ranging from lemongrass to pepper, and bar bites to pair with your drinks are what we recommend.
