Brothers, Here Are 5 Ideas To Make Rakhi Celebrations With Your Sister Fun

The information in this post might be outdated

Rakshabandhan is on Monday, 19 August this year and you need to plan if you are looking to make it a fun one this year. Apart from the rakhi traditions which include tying the rakhi that signifies the importance of protection and deep connection that your sibling shares with you to sharing sweets and offering prayers for everyone's well-being, you have a whole lot of things to do. No, we are not talking about just getting your sister a rakhi gift, but rather celebrations in the form of fun things. We have curated a list of fun rakhi celebration ideas that you can do with your sister come Rakshabandhan.

A Day Of Brother-Sister Fun At Loco Bear

Head down to Loco Bear in Koramangala with your sister for a day of unlimited fun. They have a trampoline park where you can bounce to your heart's content, bowling lanes, and a go-karting track where you and your sister can race each other and prove who's the better driver. Apart from that they have a multitude of arcade games that support two-player modes so nothing like reliving the classic sibling rivalry through fun games. Oh and if you are looking for some other fun they have archery, foosball, air hockey, and VR simulators too.

LBB-Tip: Look out for their combo offers that let you club multiple games and activities for a time frame.

Shopping Spree At Phoenix Mall Of Asia

If your sister's been meaning to shop for a while, then Bangalore's latest mall Phoenix Mall of Asia offers a whole lineup of branded stores for her to pick whatever she fancies. From Bobbi Brown to Shiseido, Adidas to Superdry, and Nykaa to Mango, there are over 100+ brands and stores to let your sister shop from. Of course, do let her know that your credit card has a limit. Probably over some dim sums at Eight or some chaat at Plaka.

LBB-Tip: There are plenty of hair salons and nail bars where you can book an appointment for your sister for some TLC.

Get Creative At Bistro Claytopia

Koramangala's Bistro Claytopia is a place where you and your sister can spend celebrating rakhi over painting ceramic mugs and pots, and good food. The cafe lets you pick up various mugs and pots that you can custom paint with their selection of colours and even designs, and nothing like marking the occasion of Rakshabandhan with something of a keepsake. Be sure to write 'World's Best Sister' on the piece you are designing for your sister. Even 'World's Biggest Monkey' is also allowed.

LBB-Tip: We recommend getting the whole family to participate and have a whole lot of pieces.

Trekking It Up At Skandagiri

If you and your sister are adrenaline junkies or just love nature trails, nothing like heading to Skangagiri for a morning trek and catching the sunrise. It's not too far from the city as well — takes under two hours to get there. The hill offers amateur to seasoned trekkers a fun climb since the peak is located about 1350 metres high. We've done a whole Skandagiri guide for you, so be sure to check that out here.

LBB-Tip: There are several other treks that are outside of Bangalore as well such as Ramnagara and Sholay Hills.

A Fun Family Affair Over Food

Rakshabandhan isn't just about brothers and sisters, the whole family is obviously involved. In case you're caught up with work (since Rakshabandhan is happening on a Monday) and don't have a day off, why not hire a private chef to cater a meal that your sister enjoys and celebrate rakhi with her and the entire family? Chefs A Porter is a platform that lets you book a private chef to cater to small intimate dining experiences at home and all you need to do is pick the type of cuisine and let them work their magic while you have a great way to end the evening on a high note.

LBB-Tip: You can also order some custom cakes and bakes from Happy Belly Bakes.
