Rent And Go

For commuters who use the Metro to travel to and from work, the last mile {or the first mile} is going to be a lot easier than catching an auto or walking. Metro Bikes’ new First Mile and Last Mile service lets you rent a scooter from your Boarding Metro Sation {home} and Deboarding Metro Sation {office}. And all that for INR 6.5 per kilometre. The First Mile service, which is a night plan, lets you take the scooter from the home station and keep it with you for the night and return it in the morning. The Last Mile, which is a day plan, lets you take the scooter from the office station to your workplace and keep it with you until the evening and bring it back to the Metro Station.

Currently, the service is available at major metro hubs such as Banashankari and Jayanagar on the Green Line, and Baiyappanahalli, Swami Vivekananda Road, Indiranagar, Trinity, MG Road, Majestic, and Mysore Road on the Purple Line. They will be extending the service to other stations as well.

If you want us to do the math for you, let’s say your home and/or office are two kilometres away from the metro stations, so the total distance to be calculated is 4 km. Multiply that by two rides, INR 6.5 and 22 days {which is the rental period}, then you’d pay a total fare of INR 1,144. A valid DL is required for renting the bikes. Authorised Metro Bikes agents are present in the said stations from 8 am to 10 pm all through the week.
