The Scoop

Bangalore’s first speciality running store! This one’s by the runners, for the runners. This means that they know exactly what you are hankering after, and before you can ask it, it’s available for you! Their goal is to get more people running and walking in the ooru. The products available include running shoes, garments, gear such as runner-specific water bottles, resistance bands, and also nutrition products like Unived and Fast & Up, which help you stay strong during a run, and recover fast, after.

One of the store’s goals was to create a physical space for runners to congregate and chat. With that end in mind, their store is the hub of plenty of runner-specific activities, such as expert talks, experience sharing sessions, etc.

The Style

A slick retail setup in Chandra Layout {that’s the penultimate stop, if you take the Metro towards Mysore Road, like we did, and a brisk 10-minute walk on well-maintained pavements, while appreciating this charming neighbourhood}. Sathya, Shiva and Deepak are the gents behind this cool new space. Being passionate runners, they are all about figuring out what the Bangalore running community needs and who in the community can be best used to help meet that need. Their effort is truly to keep it friendly, keep it within the running family and keep it vibrant!

What We Love

ALL their products. They support local businesses that believe in good quality products. They therefore stock t-shirts, tights, arm and leg warmers from ARMR, a Bangalore-based technical garment production company. These come at very wallet-friendly prices. They also stock some of the best running shoes in the world — that you can’t have for love or money, anywhere else in town. Case in point, Newton shoes and Mizuno.

Wait, you haven’t heard of their services, yet. Their store doubles up as start/ finish point for weekly training runs {they run in the Bangalore University campus, which is beauty defined}. They organise expert sessions {in the last three months, they have had nutrition experts, physiotherapists, speakers to introduce triathlons, and more. They have story-sharing sessions with runners who have accomplished great feats or have had amazing experiences, so that the community can benefit from their knowledge. They offer gait analysis, which helps you understand the mechanics of how you run, and therefore, what kind of shoes you ought to wear, and also what kind of strength training and warm-up/ cool-down need to be on your to-do list, to avoid overtraining injuries and resulting heartaches.

Who Is It For

Anyone wanting to get their running game on, or get it to the next level! Also, anyone with a sense of humour. Meaning what, you ask? Check out their contact us page: they have defined distance to their store by standard running distances. Guaranteed to get the running nerd’s shoelaces in a happy twist!
