What Is It?

Throwing the spotlight on India’s greatest contribution to the world of fashion, the Saree Festival Summer Showcase returns to town this June. Set to take place at the gorgeous RainTree, on Sankey Road, the exhibition-cum-sale will feature a vast selection of sarees from all over the country — think classic and contemporary styles for you ladies who want a bit of both. Split into two aspects, the Saree Mela is the exhibition and sale of diverse pan-Indian styles and the Saree ka Gunijan Khana which will feature talks, presentations, performances and workshops that celebrate this fine garment.

Who Is It For?

For all those women, young and old, who can’t get enough of this elegant, nine-yard drape. If you are looking for some lovely fabrics and weaves to add to your collection, this is where you should be.

Why Should I Go For It?

Well, if you want to stand out from the crowd, and look glamorous, this exhibition will answer all your saree-related prayers. There will be traditional weaves and styles like Chanderis and Banarasis to more experimental prints and patterns like the trendy contemporary Ilkals from Bagalkot and Kutch kala-cottons. So now’s the time to impress your mom with your mature fashion taste. We’ll see you there with your sister and your favourite aunt. #sareenotsorry
