What Makes It Awesome

Routine can suck the adrenaline out of any good soul. You too -- reader who's been a victim of the 9-5 rut, watching every week go by faster than the last with Mr. Fun appearing close to zero times. Press a hard nerve, did we? Let's quickly undo that by introducing you to Satya Sports Village, a heaven-like nature's retreat that awaits just your presence. The excitement, entertainment and thrill will follow inevitably.

Nestled at the foothills of Nandi, Satya Sports Village boasts of a gorgeous view -- a cluster of giris or hills -- Nandi Giri, Chandra Giri and Brahma Giri amidst which, you, family, friends or office folks can have an hands-on experience with nature. Let loose, because there are many activities planned, it's called a sports village for nothing! The dual ground spaces and indoor trails accommodate all types of sports activities, from Horse Riding, Cycling, ATV Bike Rides to Zip-lining, Zorbing, Bungee Trampoline and regular games like cricket, badminton and the likes. SSV also hosts treks, nature/heritage trails, safaris and encourage playing traditional games like Lagori, Gilli Danda and Tug-of-war to pump up the energy the old-school way.

Those on a time or budget crunch can opt for the day packages (either 7am to 4pm or 9am to 6pm) for INR 1,500 per person. This is inclusive of a breakfast, lunch, tea plus one major activity (trek, trail, horse riding) and you have the grounds open to play regular sport through the day. There's comfortable accommodation too but don't expect luxurious room service, it defeats the purpose of retreating to the hills seeking adventure.

What Could Be Better

SSV sadly isn't pet-friendly but do have arrangements where you can board your pet off nearby. If you're bringing a senior citizen along make sure they're okay to moving by themselves because there isn't service and the walk between rooms and the designated dining area isn't exactly close.

Pro-Tip

If you choose to stay for one day, one night (2pm to 12pm) you can either camp in the open (bed provided), stay in a dormitory or a lock tent (these have common bathrooms) or stay in a cottage (like a private room) or book a whole villa/glass house. Bonfire areas are available for them all, but like mentioned no room service. Prices range between INR 1,500 to INR 12,000. SSV also provides ayurvedic massage treatments, best if you want to cool off after an adventure-filled day.
