Five Single Screen Theatres In The City To Catch The Avengers In Action

If you’re a fan of The Avengers, or you're not really, you won't need to be told that the finale of the decade-old sage is coming to an end this Friday! Quite unsurprisingly, most shows for the entire weekend are already sold out. But while you may not get to catch the first-day-first-show, there are plenty of options to pick from over the weekdays, once all the crazy commotion has died down. Plus, you might not have to shell out too much either. We went ahead and picked out five old-school single-screen theatres where you’ll get to watch the movie,.

Lavanya Theatre

Known to screen the latest of Tamil releases, this one’s bound to be on your list already if you’re a fan of Tamil movies. Be prepared to jostle a bit for your tickets though {alas, they don’t seem to have online booking}. Although that might not bother the hardcore Rajinikanth fans out there, we think. We suspect that this one will have whistling and wowing crowd, as it usually does. Bring on the real fans!

Cauvery Theatre

The iconic place has comfy seats and budget nibbles and we’re already sold. Pick from the Balcony, Mini Balcony and First Class seats here and settle in to watch your favourite star’s movie.

Urvashi Digital 4K Cinema

Apparently among the first in the state to introduce Digital and 3D Projection, this single-screen theatre promises you a remarkable movie experience. And, what better way to make most of it than by catching a show of what might be the most anticipated release of the year? Plus, you’ll get some solid fan following here.

Sri Srinivasa Theatre

While you might not get to catch the first show of The Avengers on its release day (unless you’ve cleverly booked well in advance), head to this theatre on a weekday and you can score tickets for INR 150 (first class) or INR 110 (regular). Add to that a well-stocked snack counter and we possibly couldn’t ask for more.

Lakshmi Theatre

The cool Koramangala spot to watch the latest releases, this one is actually in Tavarekere. Tickets start at an easy INR 100 (no, nonsense of Delhi prices), and the morning shows are sometimes just INR 10, for the first row. Catch everything from SRK films to animation, and of course the much-hyped The Avengers
