A rendition of the classic Hindi play Sir Sir Sarla, get ready to watch this two-part story of a poetry teacher and his two most beloved students unfold at Chowdiah Memorial Hall this Saturday. Debuting way back in the year 2001, this play has seen big names like Anurag Kashyap and Sonali Kulkarni as part of its cast. Sixteen years later, its director, the talented Makarand Deshpande {you probably remember him from movies like Swades and Sarfarosh} is bringing it to a Bangalore stage for us to take in. With Deshpande also starring in the play himself, this stage production will also feature artists like Sanjay Dadhich, Aahana Kumra {of Lipstick Under My Burkha fame} and Faisal Rashid.

Maruti Suzuki and ZEE Theatre have come together as Maruti Suzuki Zee Theatre to bring a series of great plays across the country and Sir Sir Sarla will be the first play the city will see as part of this creative collaboration. Makarand Deshpande and his renowned theatre troupe, Ansh, will be presenting the show. Dealing with many heavy themes, the central one being love, get caught in a tornado of emotion as you sit back and soak in some great theatre and culture.
