Whether you’ve got a big wedding or a family occasion to attend, you know you’ve got to look the part. And when it comes to occasion wear, Safina Plaza is the gift that keeps on giving. Our latest find at the shopping complex is Sonal, a saree store that does interesting versions of the traditional six yards.
Often mixing popular weaves, their fusion sarees are sure to turn a few heads. For instance, their saree with a combination of aari work and French knots set in deep blue tussar silk is a gorgeous and unique piece we’ve got our eye onalong with a couple of kalamkari numbers set in georgette. Their Benarasi options and a few patan patola designs are quite popular with their patrons too. Prices for their sarees start at INR 5,000, and if you’re lucky, you can get your hands on a drape for INR 3,000. But sarees in that price range are limited in stock.
It’s not just sarees on the rails here, but fabrics and yardage too. Kancheevarams, linens and georgettes, get it all here. They’ll even source them in the colours you want on request. The fabrics and looms are priced at INR 1,000 upwards. So head down to Safina Plaza and give them a look-see and maybe add a few ethnic gems to your closet.
