Baba Chatkora in BTM is the place to go to if you are looking for soya chaap in Bangalore. Plus, these go rather well with the kulchas on the menu of this vegetarian restaurant.

It's Chaap Chaap Time

Being the hardcore non-vegetarians that we are, our version of chaap is the delectable mutton version that you get at Rahhams on Old Airport Road. At Baba Chatkora, we were introduced to another kind of chaap, and it has got nothing to do with meat. Between the Afghani Chaap and Masala Chaap {both are vegetarian dishes by the way}, the Masala chaap isa winner for us because of its spiciness. This well-cooked soya chaap was served on an eco-friendly plate along with chopped onions and mint chutney that greatly complements the dish.

The soft and succulent soya chaap is full of flavour from the first bite and the grilled veggies {onions, tomatoes, and capsicum} add to the overall taste. We recommend you pop these chaaps into your mouth with Baba Chatkora’s  buttery aloo kulchas served with a spicy chole gravy. To wash down all the spiciness, we highly recommend the Matka Lassi that’s actually served chilled in a matka.

Worth The Wait

Baba Chatkora is a quaint little place with limited seating. If you are going there during evening time, you’ll find the place a bit crowded with the waiting time around 15 minutes. We hear that their Punjabi thaalis are a huge hit among the office crowd in and around BTM area.
