Juleyy :) (Heyyy)
This post- in the name of mountains, lakes, rains, skies, valleys, monasteries, home stays, monks, and to all the experiences that'll never be forgotten.Cheers!
Spiti explorations:
1)Kunzum pass
This route connects Lahaul and Spiti and works as a gateway to enter Spiti valley from Manali’s side at a height of 4,590m.
The beautiful and colorful Buddhist flags fluttering amidst the snow capped peaks was a treat to watch. 🗻
There is also a shrine named Kunzum Mata temple, a personification of the pass.
2) Dhankar Lake
A cliff-fort ( Dhankar lake) trek!
A two hour ascent trail to the lake at an altitude of about 4270m and a change of temperature from warm, windy to very cold took us on task.
The loose pebbles and the crisp mountain air make you breathless within a few seconds.Phew!
Spending enough time at the lake, we could see the sky change colors and reflect on the glassy lake. Within a span of just a few hours we could see a profusion of colors, each one fascinating in its own way.
The descend trail is a little easier but the view was just lit. A sky full of lil of stars :P
3)Langza
Being located at a high altitude, Langza is divided into two sections - langza Yongma (lower) and langza Gongma(upper). At first glance of the village, one can instantly notice a huge Golden coloured Buddha statue which looks upon whole of the village as if it's watching over everybody's move.
4)Chandratal lake
Nestled comfortably between the mountains, the whole place is quite desolate, almost moon like.
Chandra Taal is located in Spiti side of Lahaul and these valleys are arid and that’s why this area is called “cold desert”.
Uniqueness-Prayer Flags :) They are everywhere!
Strung from one tree to another or strapped all over a rickety wooden bridge.
Scripted with sanskrit prayers, reads - Om Mani Padme Hum!( "Hail the jewel in the Lotus") Means, try and practice generosity, ethics, tolerance, patience, perseverance, concentration and wisdom.
The strange beauty of Spiti is something that I will remember for life.✨
