Macaroon Towers, Red Velvet Jars And Salted Carmel Loaf From Sprinkled Bakery

Sprinkled, a boutique bakery offers loaf cakes, cupcakes and dessert jars all with a French touch.

With her first batch of cookies at the age of seven, Gauthami Shankar knew that she was born to bake. Never mind that the cookies came out of the oven burnt! After her training in the culinary arts from Christ University, she started off a low-key home baking business till she officially launched Sprinkled, in December 2015. While she still operates out of her home, {she’s planning to launch a Parisian-themed cafe some time soon}, Sprinkled’s menu has a heavy-duty line-up of signature and classic cakes, cupcakes, muffins and dessert jars. We first dug into the Red Velvet Cream Cheese Jars. The cake was fluffy, light and the hint of saltiness came through beautifully. The cream cheese, however, was a bit on the heavier side but with that airy cake, we didn’t really notice. The simple Chocolate and Salted Caramel Loaf Cake had just the right amount of sugar but we wished for more of the salted caramel. We also dipped our spoons into two, tiny bottles of strawberry preserve and they stole the show. The small chunks of strawberry, in the preserve, had a lovely tang that we couldn’t get enough of. There were mini, chocolate coated donuts too {with little heart-shaped sprinkles on them… Aaaww!}, and were gone in seconds. Finally, we gobbled up the dark and white chocolate truffles that were silken smooth.
