What Is It?
For the first time in town, there’s going to be an open-air movie night! SteppinOut {a city-based lifestyle membership program} is the brains behind this concept and we’re loving it. JW Marriott’s lush lawns will play host to this unique movie night, and will even be curating a special festival-food menu {think hot dogs, pastas, Fried Chichen Burgers, and Paneer Tikka Wraps among others, for under INR 200} just for this. But what we’re most excited about is the movies that will be screened. By public demand {they conducted a poll on Facebook}, Disney’s The Lion King will be first up, thanks to the whopping victory margin it won by. Then, for a hint of nostalgia and late 90s, Harry Potter And The Philosopher’s Stone will be the second film for the night. Take that The Godfather and Mean Girls! Stoked yet? We are!
Who Is It For?
If you’re from the generation who was deeply impacted by Simba tugging at Mufasa’s ear and looked up to Timon {despite his size}. Or you randomly put on hats and hoped that you’d be sorted into Gryffindor. Get yourself a ticket right now. It’s nostalgia sugar coated. If you don’t know any of this, then shame on you. So make sure you get a ticket – these films are iconic! You’ll thank us later!
Why Should I Go For It?
Since it’s happening for the first time, you’ll be part of pop-culture history in Bangalore. If that’s not enough, then perhaps the fact that there’s going to be a full-fledged bar serving drinks at subsidised rates will do the trick. For those of you with a competitive streak, go for the life-size Jenga that will really challenge you! Also, there'll be popcorn and cotton candy.
