Days Of Yore
There’s something about fireplaces and hill stations! And when there’s a roaring fire as soon as you enter a hotel, it’s already winning brownie points. Sullivan Court {an ITC Fortune property}, having that fireplace, manicured gardens, flower-lined driveway and the cutest little play area for kids, has accumulated many of those aforementioned points. With about 64 rooms and a few suites, it’s like checking into a hotel from the 1920s!
All of the rooms maintain that quintessential old-school mansion feel — from the ceiling to floor curtains and antique furniture to floral patterns and fluffy carpeting. That said, in the monsoon, these fine rooms do get a bit musty. Nothing that fresh air from open windows won’t sort out though.
Laid Back
If you’re planning to just vegetate in your room or hotel grounds, this place is a good option. They have a garden area ideal for sandwiches, cakes and tea, and they’re on a hill top, so you can spend time looking at the bustling town below, or the rolling hills in the distance. Since it’s close to town, walking around is an option. In fact, if you don’t mind the twenty-minute walk, the boat house is just 2.5 km away, and you can enjoy a ride on the lake, munching popcorn. Kids part of your crew? Well then, they can happily jump aboard the toy train, or any of the carnival rides, just by the lake.
There is a restaurant at Sullivan Court which serves complimentary breakfast and has a buffet for dinner. But the dinner buffet can get a bit repetitive, and it’s not very tasty. Ordering a la carte isn’t a bad option, though you’d be better off sticking to North Indian food, or muffins. The muffins are divine!

Christmas time at Sullivan Court is lovely. They have a beautiful tree, carol singing, and the atmosphere is just how you’d like it during winter — cheery, warm and fuzzy.
