SuperDry Now Has A Brick And Mortar Shop In Town

Even though they may be already available online, UK brand Superdry finally makes an entrance in town, and a grand one at that. Expect Japanese aesthetics and all American vintage style in their in-store collections.

As you walk into VR Bengaluru {where Superdry’s first store in the city has opened}, you cannot really miss Superdry’s giant window display right after the entrance. Walk in, and you will find yourself strolling on fine wooden floors. Look up, and instead of traditional ceilings, you will find a barrage of pipelines and aluminium vents. There’s also exposed brick walls to make matters more funky at the store, which is all of 2,099 sq.ft in area.

The first thing that might catch your eye here is the SuperDry Sports Collection. Part of Superdry’s Spring-Summer 2016, collection, there’s sports bras, gym running leggings, shorts, track pants and jackets among others {in greys, blacks and pinks} to look out for. Most of the women’s collection in store, is fashioned out of polyester and cotton {apparently they boast of good fabric strength}. Look out for semi casual apparel such as pretty bohemian tops with tassels and lacey details, along with basics and essentials such as tees with Japan-inspired graphics. The classy suede jackets and preppy varsity ones get a thumbs up from us.

Tote bags and graphic print flip flops {perfect for the beach} are other attractions. The sneakers for women are similar to the EspaDry Collection for men. They are made from denim material {with prints and designs that go from adorable to super cool} and have a jute-based outsole, which makes it stand out from ordinary trainers.

Take your pick from basics here like short or long sleeves tees with graphic prints to comfy stylish hoodies and polo shirts. The Vintage Americana collection highlights faded and distressed looks on men’s shorts and jeans. Their laptops satchels are compact but convenient enough to carry more than just your device and their roomy, barrel bags are perfect to stash your gym essentials in. Menfolk, do check out the vast selection of jackets on offer {from leather to denim}.

The only bummer is that though Superdry positions itself as high street, the prices go way beyond that category. A pair of denims will cost you a cool INR 7,000 and a shirt will set you back by INR 4,000. We might just wait for sale time to happen.
