What's Happening

With increased awareness about the city’s (and planet’s) issues comes a sense of responsibility, and if you don’t know where to start, Talking Earth: Future Cities is a good place to start. A conference addressing current concerns and how to work around them to achieve sustainable development.

The conference will focus on four themes - Pollution & Waste, Lakes, Heritage, and Urban Development. Spanning across the day, will be workshops, panel discussions, speaker sessions, and shopping! Hosting around 30 sustainable brands, you can pick up some cool everyday essentials, stationery, apparel and the like from brands that are actively attempting to be better businesses for the Earth. The panel discussion will see a multidisciplinary panel with people from political parties (Meenakshi Bharat - Lok Satta President), lake conservationists (Madhuri Subbarao - co-founder, Friends of Lakes), educators (Pavan Srinath - Takshashila faculty) and heritage preservation advocates (Satya Prakash Varanashi - Convenor, INTACH) among others.

There will be multiple pre-events leading up to the actual conference, but if you’re unable to attend, fear not as they’ll have hands-on workshops through the day. Problem solvers can sign up for the design thinking workshop focussed on real world problems. More of maker? Check out the upcycling and embroidery workshop to reduce clothing waste, make a terrarium or  dreamcatchers out of waste (good dreams AND good karma!) to get the best out of your day! Oh and did we mention that there will be artisanal coffee and craft beer? Plus, LBB is the Media Partner so, the team will be on-ground too!
