If you remember our recommendation, it said something about a charming terrace with colourful metal chairs {ideal for brunch} and a vast indoor section with red brick walls, metal high tables, bar stools and stunning acoustics downstairs, and the vibes are what make The Humming Tree. Well, they have revamped, and so it begs that we revamp our recommendation too.
Occupying the first floor of the same building where it is located {just above Mamagoto, FYI}, The Humming Tree will soon be a stand-alone performance space. Yup, an exclusive space to host live music, theatre, spoken word poetry, workshops, and anything else you call a performance. Oh, and to celebrate the opening of the new space, they are having a hip-hop act featuring Raja Kumari and Divine, this Friday, November 24, from 9 pm.
Apart from the performances, which the current version give you a glimpse of, and are likely to be outstanding, you’ll also get more than just that. The space will have a cafe with fresh bakes, soup, sandwiches and cookies, and a bar service too. The original gig space is undergoing renovation {at the time of writing this recommendation} while the terrace is just the way you remember.
